Maspalomas Pride 2025: A Record-Breaking Celebration of Diversity and Inclusion

The experience for this year

This year’s Maspalomas Pride, held from May 1 to 11, was absolutely incredible — by far the biggest and most vibrant celebration I’ve ever seen! The event attracted over 300,000 people from all over the world, shattering previous attendance records and proving once again why Maspalomas is one of Europe’s top LGBTQ+ destinations.

From the moment I arrived, the energy was contagious. The streets were bursting with color, joy, and pride. One of the highlights for me was the grand parade, which featured 38 amazing floats and drew a crowd of more than 95,000 spectators. It was by far the largest parade in the history of the event, and the atmosphere was electric.

But Maspalomas Pride isn’t just about the parties — it also brings a huge economic boost to the island. According to official estimates, the festival generated over €150 million for the local economy, benefiting businesses, restaurants, hotels, and workers throughout Gran Canaria. It’s incredible to see how this event not only celebrates diversity but also supports the local community.

Over the 11 days, there were more than 40 events including pool parties, drag shows, concerts, and cultural activities. I loved the mix of international artists and local talent performing, making the festival feel both global and deeply connected to the island’s spirit.

What impressed me most was the strong sense of community and inclusion. The organizers went beyond entertainment by running food drives to help local families and environmental initiatives to keep the island beautiful. It truly felt like a celebration that lifts everyone up.

Looking ahead, I’m already excited for Maspalomas Pride 2026. With such growing international attention and support from local authorities, this event is only going to get bigger and better. It’s not just a festival — it’s a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and the importance of continuing to fight for equality and acceptance.

If you haven’t experienced Maspalomas Pride yet, put it on your bucket list — it’s an unforgettable week of love, pride, and celebration.
